This is one of the most attractive sites in Puducherry which is known for its architectural grandeur. Located on the Goubert Avenue this describes the legendary French rule in Pondichery.

French War Memorial is one of the legendary French Institute of Puducherry which was built in the honour of the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the First World War. This is a small white building which has a memorial dedicated to the warriors of First World War. Along with its unique collection of armouries this memorial is also known for gala Bastille Day Celebration which is celebrated with a lot of pomp and grandeur on the 14th July. On this occasion the monument is decorated with numerous lights which create some of the most panoramic view for the visitors.

Thus built in the memory of dead soldiers of First World War this is one of the historical sites of Puducherry which is often visited by the tourists.
