On 13th April 2014, it was announced that Venugopal Dhoot had won the bidding for the Goa franchise along with Dattaraj Salgaocar and Shrinivas Dempo. On 23rd September 2014, the Indian cricketer Virat Kohli came up as one of the co-owners. The brand ambassador of Football Club Goa is the Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan.

The training ground for Football Club Goa is at Tilak Maidan located in Vasco da Gama, Goa. The venue hosts matches of the I-League as well as local Goan leagues. Tilak Maidan has the capacity to accommodate 12,000 spectators. In 2014 it has been upgraded satisfactorily to ensure most FIFA standards are maintained. Dattaraj Salgaocar is the owner and Managing Director of V.M. Salgaocar Group of Companies. Brazilian Football player Arthur Antunes Coimbra (Zico) is the first Manager or Head Coach of Football Club Goa. The club will play their home matches at the Fatorda Stadium in Goa. Fatorda Stadium which is officially known as Jawarharlal Nehru Stadium, is an Indian multi-purpose stadium situated in Margao. Arthur Papas is the assistant coach of Football Club Goa. Hussein Skenderovic is the conditional coach and Mariano Dias is the Head of Youth Development of the team.
