On 13th April 2014, it was announced that Venugopal Dhoot had won the bidding for the Goa franchise along with Dattaraj Salgaocar and Shrinivas Dempo. On 23rd September 2014, the Indian cricketer Virat Kohli came up as one of the co-owners. The brand ambassador of Football Club Goa is the Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan.

The training ground for Football Club Goa is at Tilak Maidan located in Vasco da Gama, Goa. The venue hosts matches of the I-League as well as local Goan leagues. Tilak Maidan has the capacity to accommodate 12,000 spectators. In 2014 it has been upgraded satisfactorily to ensure most FIFA standards are maintained. Dattaraj Salgaocar is the owner and Managing Director of V.M. Salgaocar Group of Companies. Hussein Skenderovic is the conditional coach and Mariano Dias is the Head of Youth Development of the team.
