Finger of Mercury, Palmistry The little finger at the extreme, which is small in size comparing to the other fingers is called as the finger of mercury. It is called Kanishthika in Hindi. The mount of Mercury is situated at the base. Generally the finger of Mercury is smaller than other fingers in the hand. Generally the little finger or the finger of mercury is the shortest of all the fingers. If this finger reaches the nail of the finger of Apollo then the person reaches a very high status in life and gets appointed on a responsible high post. The finger of mercury, when found to be longer than the actual size it is considered more auspicious, in the science of palmistry. Persons with such fingers are proved to be a successful administrators and successful men of letters. Sometimes this finger is longer than half the part of the upper phalange of the finger of Apollo. Persons with such fingers become a secretary or an I.A.S. authority. These persons are able to earn sudden wealth and the latter part of his life passes very successfully.

Apart from these there are certain other facts, which should be considered, while judging the hands of a person. If this finger appears to be unusually long, then such persons are intellectuals and are specially gifted to impress other people. If this finger is very small, the man has the ability to know the underlying meaning very quickly. At the same time he is capable of taking quick decision. If the tip of the finger is pointed then it is found that such persons are wise, quick and microscopic observers. At the same time they are good conversationalists. If the front tip of the finger of mercury is structurally square then such persons are especially capable of using logic resolutely. Also they can impress persons with their speeches. When the upper part is flat, then the person with such finger becomes a scientist. Such persons also take great interest in the working of machinery and made huge success in this field. If the first phalange of this finger is long, then the person gets success in science. When the second phalange is long, then the person is found to be gaining much in business, most of which depends on his own labor. Again if the third phalange is long, then such a person is generally very clever. But he has the tendency of telling lies more than necessary, even when it is not necessary. If this finger is equal to the finger of Apollo in length then, according to the palmists such person will be successful as a philosopher and a learned man of a very high order. Or if the little finger appears to be equal in length to the finger of Saturn, then such a person becomes world-wise famous by his works. In fact the longer the finger of Mercury the more it is considered auspicious.

In this way, the finger of mercury or the little finger is necessary to denote the future of the individuals. The palmists consider the finger utterly important to study the nature of the concerned person.
