Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent is awarded by Filmfare in its annual Filmfare Awards, to honour the budding and talented artistes who promisingly emerge in the field of music in the Hindi film industry. It is given to any rising music artiste who showcases a significant breakthrough in Hindi films in the preceding year of the awards, thereby, providing him/her further incentive and encouragement to contribute in music by innovating and breaking new grounds.
Named after the late renowned music composer Rahul Dev Burman, it was first given in the year 1995 to present day eminent and globally accomplished music composer A. R. Rahman.
Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent at 61st Filmfare Awards
The 61st edition of Filmfare Awards held in January 2016, recognised Armaan Malik with the Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent. Armaan Malik is an emerging singer who has voiced three of the most melodious and popular tracks of 2015, namely "Main Hoon Hero Tera" from the film "Hero", "Tumhe Apna Banane Ka" and "Wajah Tum Ho" from "Hate Story 3".
