Fennel Oil
Fennel oil is commonly known as "Saunf" in Hindi. It is a native of Europe and Asia Minor. It is cultivated extensively in Northern India as a cold weather crop. The Fennel oil is another essential oil from the carrot family. It has got a sweet, pungent taste with cooling and moisturizing properties. It acts as carminative, diuretic, anti-spasmodic, stimulant and female tonic.

It is useful during pregnancy to prevent morning sickness, and is excellent for people who travel, since it helps to reduce or prevent sea lag. One of the most important carminative oils, it is useful for upset stomachs, gas, flatulence, indigestion and is traditionally used in Indian restaurants in herb form as an after dinner promoter of digestion. Fennel oil contains phyto-estrogens so its useful with PMS and menopause It also mixes well with the following oils: Anise, Caraway, Lavender, Chamomile, Angelica, Cardamom, Clove, Orange and Ginger.

Uses of Fennel Oil

•Usually recommended for reducing stomach acidity and prevention of ulcers.

•Useful in toning the body because of its diuretic effect; it can be helpful in obesity.

•Often used in breast creams for tightening and enlarging.
