Emraan Hashmi is a Bollywood actor recognized for his powerful portrayal of varied characters. His acquaintance with the film industry occurred as an assistant director but later he shifted his focus towards acting. Early Life of Emraan Hashmi
Emraan Hashmi was born on 24th March 1979 in Mumbai, to a Muslim family. His parents are Anwar Hashmi and Mahira Hashmi. Renowned filmmakers Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt are his uncles. Emraan Hashmi is also the cousin of famous actress and director Pooja Bhatt, director Mohit Suri, actress Alia Bhatt and actor Rahul Bhatt. He completed his education from Sydenham College and University of Mumbai.
Career of Emraan Hashmi
Emraan Hashmi stepped into Bollywood in 2003 with Vikram Bhatt`s thriller "Footpath" in which he appeared alongside Bipasha Basu and Aftab Shivdasani. He essayed the role of a gangster in the movie and received critical acclamations for his performance.
His second release was Anurag Basu`s thriller Murder where he appeared alongside Mallika Sherawat and Ashmit Patel. He portrayed a negative role in the movie and gained much appreciation for the same. His subsequent ventures included movies like Tumsa Nahin Dekha, Zeher, Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Aksar and Chocolate. In the movie Kalyug, Emraan played a supporting role. His performance in Anurag Basu`s romantic thriller Gangster earned her great popularity. He essayed the role of an undercover detective and starred alongside Shiny Ahuja and Kangna Ranaut. With this movie the actor also earned his first Filmfare nomination for Best Performance in a Negative Role. In the following years he starred in a number of movies including Dil Diya Hai, The Killer, Good Boy Bad Boy, Awarapan, The Train, Jannat and many others. His one of the best performance of career has been accredited to his role in the movie "Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai". In the movie his character was inspired by a real life gangster Dawood Ibrahim. In addition to gaining positive reviews from the critics he also received Best Supporting Actor nomination at the 56th Filmfare Awards. In the following years Emraan Hashmi proved his versatility by playing varied roles in a number of movies such as The Dirty Picture, Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, Jannat 2, Shanghai, Raaz 3D, Ek Thi Daayan and many more.
Personal Life of Emraan Hashmi
In December 2006 Emraan Hashmi married Parveen Sahani in an Islamic wedding ceremony. The couple is blessed with a son named Ayaan Hashmi.
