Education of Hazaribagh reaches a height of improvement due to the contribution of several educational institutes.

To meet the demands of the people, education of Hazaribagh has been given priority. Numerous schools and colleges are found in order to cater to the needs of the people. In the town of Hazaribagh Sarswati Vidya Mandir is one such school, which facilitates the cultural and traditional aspects of the society. To top it all, the calm and silent environment of Hazaribagh drew the attention of the educationists to establish institutions in the town.

The Dublin Mission is quite significant. This institution has got a rich history behind it. In the year 1890, activities of the mission began at Hazaribagh under the supervision of Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland. St. Columba`s college is another reputed educational institution. In fact it was one of the ancient most institution in the whole of Bihar state. A.F.Markham was an alma mater of this college. In the later period he has earned reputation as the vice chancellor of Ranchi University.

Missionaries also have contributed to the growth of the education of Hazaribagh. In fact at Sitagarha , which is situated in the close proximity of Hazaribagh , the Roman Catholics have established a religious school . It has got a beautiful garden. In the post independence era they also have established a school for girls. The name of this school is Mount Carmel. In the year 1952, Rev. Fr. John Moore, a Jesuit missionary of Australia, also has established an educational institution called St.Xavier`s in the year 1952. Now DAV Public School has been formed in the year 1994 at Hazaribagh. Lying close to Canary Hill this school imparts education up to the level of 10+2 .

The Ananda College is an educational institute, which enables the education of Hazaribagh to reach such a height. It has adapted to the mode of co-educational system of education in the year 2005. It houses four fielding grounds in order to promote sports and games.

Recently also few educational institutions have developed in Hazaribagh. AISECT is one such instituion, which has started functioning in the 1997. It offers courses of technical fields like BCA, MCA, BBA, MBA and also other degree and diploma programs.

Gulmohar Inter College and Gulmohar Public School are the names of other educational institutions lying adjacent TV tower, Barkagaon road, and thus imparting quality education as a whole.

The Police Training College, Reformatory School and Zilla School etc also are part of the system of education of Hazaribagh.
