Dwaraka Pitha, Dwaraka, GujaratDwaraka Pitha is a prehistoric monastery located in the coastal city of Dwaraka in the Gujarat state of India. The monastery is dedicated to Lord Krishna. Also called `Dwaraka matha`, it is one of the four cardinal mathas or seats of learning founded by Adi Shankara in 8th Century CE, and is the pascimamnaya matha, or western matha. Devotees also know this place by the name of Kalika Matha. As per the tradition initiated by Adi Shankara, it represents Sama Veda.

The current head or Shamkaracharya of this order is Swami Svarupananda Sarasvati, who also claims to head the corresponding northern matha at Jyotirmath. The previous leaders of the monastery were Sri Trivikrama Tirtha, Sri Bharati Krishna Tirtha, Shri Swarupananda, Shri Yogeswarananda, and Shri Abhinava Saccidananda Tirtha.

Owing to its religious significance, Dwaraka Pitha is visited by a number of pilgrims and devotees. The Gujarat railway station is the nearest railway station. From here, one can book private cab or taxi.
