Dry Fruit Kheer
Dry fruit kheer is a dessert which is prepared by mixing creamy milk with titbits of crunchy, chewy dried fruits and nuts.

Dry Fruit KheerDry fruit kheer is a scrumptious and nutritious dessert. Unlike kheer, grain and rice are not used in dry fruit kheer. It is a savoury mix of creamy milk with titbits of various crunchy, chewy dried fruits and nuts. Dry fruit kheer is delicious by itself but it can also be teamed up with luchi or paratha as per need. It is easy and quick to prepare.

Ingredients of Dry Fruit Kheer

•Milk - 1 liter
•Makhane (Lotus fruit) - 30-40 grams (Cut each lotus fruit in four pieces)
•Cashew Nuts - 20-25 (cut each cashew in 5 to 6 pieces)

•Dried Raisins - 4 tbsp means 50 grams (Remove the stems and clean with cotton)

•Almond - 20-25 (Cut them lengthwise in 7 to 8 pieces)

•Chironji (charoli) - 1 tbsp

Sugar - half cup (100 grams)

•Cardamom - 5-6 (Peeled and grinded)

Method of Preparing Dry Fruits Kheer

•Take a utensil which has heavy bottom and add milk. Keep it on flame for boiling.

•When the milk is boiled, put all the dry fruits in the milk and stir with the stirring spoon and mix.

•Cook the kheer on low flame for half an hour, and keep stirring after every 2 to 3 minutes. Wait till the kheer turns thick. One can test it by letting the kheer fall from the stirring spoon. Dry fruits and milk should fall together.

•Now add sugar to the kheer and let it cook for another 3 to 4 minutes. The kheer is ready now. Turn off the burner.

•Mix grinded cardamom in the kheer with a stirring spoon.

•Take out the dry fruits ki kheer (dry fruits Pudding) in a bowl and eat, either hot or cold.

Dry fruit kheer can be prepared at home and can be served to the guests when they are invited at home. Since, it is a sweet dish it can also be served after the main course to sweeten their mouth. Dry fruit kheer is also an ideal dessert item to be served at various festivals and celebrations like Diwali, Rakhi, birthday party etc.
