Guwahati, is located at a distance of 525 km. in the east of Doomdooma and Tinsukia is located around 20 km. in the west of Doomdooma. The nearest airport is at Dibrugarh and the nearest railway station is the Doomdooma Railway Station on the Tinsukia- Dangori line.The NH 37 passes through Doomdooma.

Dibru Saikhowa and Digboi Oil Refinery are tourist destinations in the vicinity. The place is known for its natural beauty. The exquisite array of hills and the lush green tea gardens that surrouns the town makes it a paradise for all nature lovers.

According to the 2001 census report, Doomdooma had a population of 19,822. Males constitute 55% of the population and females 45% of the population. In Doomdooma, 12% of the population is less than six years of age. DoomDooma has an average literacy rate of 70%, which is higher than the national average literacy rate of 59.5%. The male literacy rate is 75% and, the female literacy rate is 63%.
