Divisions of West BengalWest Bengal primarily reflects the traditional culture and heritage of the Bengalis. The various divisions of West Bengal stand as the logo of dream and heritage whilst bearing the hangover of the British colonialism in ancient Bengal. West Bengal districts are grouped under 3 divisions. In fact there are 19 districts in this state.

Burdwan Division
This division includes the districts of Bankura District, Bardhaman Birbhum District, Purba Medinipur District, Hooghly and Purulia. While some of these districts are popular for craftsmanship, others are well known for their culinary items and desserts.

Jalpaiguri Division
This division includes Cooch Behar District, Darjeeling, Malda, North Dinajpur and South Dinajpur districts. These districts in the Jalpaiguri divisions are important tourist destinations as well.

Presidency Division
Howrah District, Murshidabad District, Nadia District, North 24 Parganas and South 24 Parganas are included in this particular division. People from all over the state of West Bengal often throng these districts. Religious monuments, sweets, attires, art and crafts in these divisions are quite renowned.
