Dehradun district also includes the prominent towns of Rishikesh, Mussoorie, Landour and Chakrata. The district stretches from the Ganges river in the east to the Yamuna river in the west, and from the Terai and Shivaliks in the south and southeast to the Great Himalaya in the northwest.

Haridwar District
Haridwar district is a district in the state of Uttarakhand. It is headquartered at Haridwar which is also its largest city. The Dehradun District in the north rings Haridwar district, Pauri Garhwal District in the east, Muzaffarnagar District and Bijnor District in the south and Saharanpur District in the west. A paradise for nature lovers and one of the seven holiest places of Hinduism, Haridwar presents a kaleidoscope of Indian culture and civilization.

Tehri Garhwal District
Tehri Garhwal District is one of the largest districts in Uttarakhand. The administrative headquarters of Tehri Garhwal District is at New Tehri. Tehri Garhwal District is surrounded by Rudraprayag District in the east, Dehradun District in the west, Uttarkashi District in the north, and Pauri Garhwal District in the south.
