Districts of South Chotanagpur Divisions include the districts like Gumla District, Khunti District, Lohardaga District, Ranchi District, and Simedega District. Districts of South Chotanagpur Division were earlier part of Chota Nagpur Division. East Singhbhum District, Seraikela Kharsawan district and West Singhbhum District were separated from South Chotanagpur division and made into a new division: Kolhan division. Chhinda Dam, Ramrekha dham, Ramjanki Mandir, Gandhi Maidan, Kelaghagh, Kobang Dam, Sarna Temple and Dhangadi are the popular weekend destinations, which are directly reachable from Kolkata and the other parts of Chhattisgarh and Bihar.
