Dimple Kapadia is an Indian movie actress and is rather popular because of her glamorous look, her appeal and also for her challenging roles. Dimple Kapadia made her acting debut, in Raj Kapoor`s romantic film Bobby, also featuring Rishi Kapoor. After this film the stars became famous overnight. Dimple Chunnibhai Kapadia was born on 8th July 1957 in a Gujarati family and was the eldest daughter of entrepreneur Chunnibhai Kapadia and Betty. Dimple has a younger sister, Simple Kapadia who had acted opposite brother-in-law Rajesh Khanna in the film Anurodh.
Acting Career of Dimple Kapadia
Dimple Kapadia made her cinematic debut with the film Bobby in 1973 at the age of 16. After Bobby, Dimple Kapadia married the famed film actor Rajesh Khanna and left the film industry. She made her return with Saagar in 1985, along with Rishi Kapoor and Kamal Hassan. She appeared in many movies throughout the 1980s and early 1990s including Manzil Manzil, Aitbaar, Arjun, Janbaaz and many more. In 1986 she marked her debut in Tamil film Vikram, in which she appeared alongside Kamal Hassan.
She received huge acclamations for her role in Rudaali and was also praised for her performance as an alcoholic in Dil Chahta Hai. In the latter she competed with the younger generation and gathered substantial prominence. In 2005, she once again starred with Rishi Kapoor in Pyaar Mein Twist. This was 20 years since their last on-screen pairing. In 2006, Kapadia starred in her first English-language film, Being Cyrus, with Saif Ali Khan. That was an off-beat film where she acted brilliantly. Naseeruddin Shah was cast opposite to her. The aging Dimple opted for mature roles of late. Dimple Kapadia also appeared in the 2009 film Luck By Chance, along with ace director Farhan Akhtar. Her other prominent films enlist Dabangg, Tum Milo Toh Sahi, Patiala House, Cocktail, What the Fish and others through which she has constantly proved her dramatic versatility.

Personal Life of Dimple Kapadia
In the year 1974, Dimple Kapadia married Jatin Khanna, popularly known as Rajesh Khanna. After that she retired from films and re-located to live with her husband in their Juhu Bungalow. The star couple has two daughters Twinkle Khanna and Rinki Khanna. After her separation from Rajesh Khanna in 1985, Dimple Kapadia resumed her acting career.
