Diamond Comics, Indian Comics MagazineDiamond Comics is a popular Indian comics magazine, published and distributed by Diamond Comics Pvt. Ltd. It is the largest comic book publisher and distributor in the country. The comics magazine has been publishing many popular and original Indian characters like Chacha Chaudhary, Billoo, Pinki, as well as several foreign comics with famous characters like Batman, Spider-Man, Phantom, James Bond and Superman in Hindi language. Most of the popular Indian characters in Diamond Comics universe are created by cartoonist Pran, one of the most prominent Indian comics creators. Diamond Comics magazine has gained much admiration and popularity amongst Hindi comics readers.

One of the most well known characters of Diamond Comics is Chacha Chaudhary, created by Pran Kumar Sharma. Chacha Chaudhary is a smart and witty elderly person who uses his astute brain and intelligence to fight evil criminals, robbers and thieves. Sabu, who has come from Jupiter, is Chacha Chaudhary`s sidekick and helps him in his adventures. Some of the other popular Indian characters are Billoo, Pinki, Raman, Shrimati Ji, Daabu, Channi Chachi, Chacha-Bhatija, Agniputra-Abhay, Tau Ji (with Rumjhum), Motu-Patlu, Motu-Chhotu, Chhotu-Lamboo, Lamboo-Motu, Anderam-Danderam, Alturam-Falturam, Manglu Madari-Bander Bihari, Mama-Bhanja, Raajan-Iqbal, Fauladi Singh (with Lamboo, Dr. John), Ankur, Chimpoo, Paltoo, Meeku, Piklu and others.

There were some action hero characters as well in Diamond Comics as well. Most prominent are Jasoos Chakram, Mahabali Shaka, Jimmy Hendricks and Dynamite. Diamond comics also published many popular western characters, which were licensed by the publishing house like Mandrake, He-Man, Batman, Spider-Man, Phantom, James Bond and Superman etc.

Diamond Comics also released a comics version of the much accepted children`s television serial Shaktimaan, featuring Mukesh Khanna. Shaktimaan is an Indian superhero and the concept was inspired from Superman. It also published a comics series titled Captain Vyom, which based on the Indian science fiction television show of the same name featuring Milind Soman in the lead role. Diamond Comics also published a few 3D comics as well.

Diamond Comics underwent a deal with License India in the year 2009 in order to create animated television shows based on the major original characters of the publishing house, like Chacha Chowdhary, Sabu, Billoo and Pinki.
