Dhoongri Temple, Himachal PradeshDhoongri temple is one of the most sacred temples of Himachal Pradesh which was built by Maharaja Bahadur Singh. This temple mainly attracts the tourists towards its architecture which marks the typical pagoda style of architecture. Dedicated to Goddess Hidimba this temple is a unique structure which has crafted wood crafting of animals and plants. Inside the temple there is the deity of Goddess Hidimba along with her imprints on the black rocks. Constructed in 1553 this temple is known for a number of mythological stories that associate the temple with the pandavas. Bhim, one of the pandava yuvaraj, had married Hidimba who is associated with the incarnation of Goddess Kali. The temple celebrates special festivals during the month of May. Mainly known for its architectural marvels this is considered as one of the most popular temples of Himachal Pradesh.

Thus well connected with roads and railways this temple resounds the legends of Mahabharata that is one of the most celebrated text of Hindu Mythology in India.
