Dharmapuri Subbarayar was a successful composer of Carnatic Music who lived during the nineteenth century. He also composed mainly in the Telugu language and used Dharmapuri, the name of his birthplace and a city in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, as his Mudra. He was famous for composing Jaavali, a song-type used for romantic subjects.
One of the most popular compositions by Dharmapuri Subbarayar is parulanna mATa namma vaddu prANa nAyakA which belongs to Kapi raga and Adi Tala of Javali type. The compositions have been done in Telugu language.
