Devesh Chauhan, Indian Hockey PlayerDevesh Singh Chauhan made his first appearance in the international field for the Men`s National Team in early 2000. He was born on November 12, 1980 in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh. This field hockey goalkeeper from India, delineated his native country twice at the Summer Olympics, respectively in 2000 (Sydney, Australia) and in 2004 (Athens, Greece). On both occasions, India finished in seventh place.

In the hazards of the Indian hockey team, the 25th Champions Trophy may have seen a striking change. But there, in the tournament some players distinguish oneself with their magnificence and consistence. Among them without any doubt, Goalkeeper Devesh Chauhan was the best Indian player during the tournament. He has however proved himself to be one of the most all right goalkeepers in the world and will keep improving. Vasudevan Bhaskaran had blobbed Chauhan in 1999, during the Bengaluru Junior nationals. IHF president K P S Gill was also present there to see the talent of this young boy.

On the basis of his hard work and willingness to learn, from then on, Devesh Chauhan has reached this meridian purely. At the tender age of 22, he was selected to represent India with these qualities at the Sydney Olympics, World Cup and the Asian Games. For the youngster it has been a stupefying progress. Chauhan had passed a few goals, which during the last Champions Trophy in Cologne, he could have stopped. But he was vivid in this edition right through the tournament. Devesh Chauhan has meliorated his goalkeeping substantially and is a person who can be relied on to give a great deal of support and comfort for the team. He is considered to be an asset for the team in the years to come. Devesh Chauhan also saved his team many times from defeat and is considered to be India`s best goal keeper.
