It flows from east to west direction before joining the Tawa river at south of Rainpur.

The Denwa River is located in 22.746128 Latitude and 77.719356 longitudes. At the confluence of Tawa & Denwa River, there is a reservoir called Tawa Reservoir (Tawa Reservoir is a huge reservoir on the Tawa River in Hoshangabad District) has been constructed for the generation of electricity and for irrigation purposes. Denwa is situated overlooking the fascinating backwaters of a dam built on Denwa River in Satpura National Park, the area is popularly known as Madhai. It is being built on 10 acres of forested land

This river attracts a large number of visitors for its natural beauty in Panchmari. Pachmarhi is a famous hill station in Madhya Pradesh.
