Danda is also the name of one of the hundred sons of Ikshwaku.

The Padma Purana and the Uttara Khanda of the Ramayana has a detailed narrative of Danda. Danda violated the daughter of Bhargava so he cursed Danda and his country was destroyed. Thus, his kingdom became the Dandaka forest. The Hari Vansa states that Danda was killed by Sudyumna.
