Cyrus Broacha is a well known personality of the Indian entertainment industry, known as a television anchor, comedian, columnist, author and political satirist. He is also popular as a prankster and is best recognized for his candid-camera show Bakra on MTV. He has been a prominent face of MTV India and has hosted a plethora of entertainment and sports shows. He has also been a part of a few Hindi flicks.

Early life of Cyrus Broacha
Cyrus Broacha was born on 7th August 1971 to a Catholic mother and Parsi father. He completed his schooling from Cathedral and John Connon School and did his graduation from St. Xavier"s College, both in Mumbai. He has also attended the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York. He began acting with a school play titled The Emperor"s New Clothes at the age of five. During his school days he was actively involved in performing and writing for the school magazine. He also won many prizes for English and drama.

Career of Cyrus Broacha
Cyrus Broacha stepped into the film world as an actor at the age of 12 when he featured in the Bollywood flick Jalwa alongside Naseeruddin Shah. In the following year he performed in his first professional play Brighton Beach Memoirs under the direction of Pearl Padamsee. He was credited as a child prodigy by the media which provided impetus to his acting career. His continued to perform in a number of plays and realized theatre as his passion. He came into spotlight during the Malhar festival in his college. He also gained recognition as a radio jockey during his college days when FM radio became popular in India. After completing his education he appeared in several plays, commercials and television serials. He also assumed the role of host for various shows and corporate events. Simultaneously he also acted in theatres for more than 20 commercial productions.

Cyrus Broacha rose to fame when he began working with MTV India as anchor. Gradually he became the main face of the channel. He has also anchored many cricket shows including Chevrolet Cricket Show on Ten Sports in addition to interviewing almost every cricketer from every generation. He has also hosted a news satire and comedy show, The Week That Wasn"t on CNN-IBN which has been co-written and directed by his friend Kunal Vijaykar. He is also the presenter of the show Faking News on IBN 7. Cyrus Broacha has represented MTV at the UNAIDS conference in Hanover, Germany and has led India"s Rock the Vote campaign. In February 2002 he has also moderated the Indian segment of Be Heard - A Global Discussion with Colin Powell. Cyrus Broacha has appeared in the show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa of Sony Entertainment Television and Fear Factor - Khatron Ke Khiladi Level 3 of Colors TV. He has anchored an annual show called Greenathon on NDTV. He has also starred in a few movies including Mumbai Chakachak, Fruit and Nut, Little Zizou and 99.

Cyrus Broacha as a Writer
Cyrus Broacha is also a columnist and writes for two magazines and two leading national papers. He released his book titled Karl, Aaj aur Kal in January 2010 which is a semi-autobiographical comedy about celebrities, Bollywood and politics. In the following year he released another book The Average Indian Male, a riotous account of the Indian male commonly referred to as the "Aam Aadmi".

Personal Life of Cyrus Broacha
Cyrus Broacha is married to Ayesha, a photographer by profession. The couple is blessed with a son named Mikhaail and a daughter named Maya.
