Culture of PuriPuri is one of the charming littoral district of Orissa. The charisma of the Puri rests in the cultural mellowness representing the district as a meeting point of several cults and religious sects. The religious sanctity, way of life of the people following ardently the rich tradition forms the cultural heart of Orissa. Indeed Puri is considered cultural capital of Orissa .

The culture in Puri is flourished with its diverse activities. The festivals observed are of different and distinct color, which represents the flavor of mixed culture of Puri. Since Puri is the happy conglomerate of different religions, sects and faith in course of history, Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, jains, Christian and tribals found here in the District. Since Puri is one of the culturally significant district, the State government has become instrumental to retain the cultural trait of Puri in all its past glory.
