Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, Maharashtra
Wankhede Stadium is the second largest cricket stadium that is located in Mumbai, Maharashtra. This cricket ground was established to solve the disputes between the Cricket club of India that owns the Brabourne Stadium and the Mumbai Cricket Association for the allocation of tickets in the cricket matches. The dispute reached at peak after the test match between India and England in the year 1973. The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) built this new stadium in the South Mumbai near the Churchgate Station. Mr. S.K. Wankhede took the main initiative to build the new stadium and the stadium was named after him. The stadium took six months of time to be completed and opened during the final test match between India and West Indies in 1975. Since then the glory of Brabourne Stadium was transferred to Wankhede stadium as the main cricketing ground of the city. The Wankhede Stadium has the capacity of 45, 000. The stadium has always the record of hosting many international matches in India. The Wankhede Stadium is home ground for the Mumbai Ranji Team and also for the Mumbai based franchise called Mumbai Indians. Since 2008, this ground has hosted all the home matches for the Mumbai Indians.

Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai, Maharashtra
Brabourne Stadium is a cricket ground in the city of Mumbai. The stadium is located near Churchgate Railway Station near south of Mumbai. The stadium is owned by the Cricket Club of India. Brabourne Stadium was built on a piece of land, reclaimed from the sea. The stadium was officially opened on December 7, 1937 following a match between The CCI and Lord Tennyson team. Neville de Mello gave the idea that the ground would be the property of Lord of India. The stadium was quite luxurious in the British period. It was also a multi sports complex, which hosted International Tennis. But the Brabourne Stadium has its own problem as the infrastructure was very old and it did not have the capacity of holding many people. There were also constant dispute regarding the distribution of tickets, as a result of which the Mumbai Cricket Association built their own stadium half a mile away.

Nehru Stadium, Pune, Maharashtra

The ground, built in 1969, is mainly used for cricket matches. The total capacity of the stadium is 25,000. The ground is the home to Maharashtra Cricket Team who represents the state of Maharashtra in Ranji Trophy.

Bombay Gymkhana, Mumbai, Maharashtra
Bombay Gymkhana stadium is located in South Mumbai, and set up in the year 1875. It was established in one of the premier gymkhanas in the city of Mumbai, India. It is located in the southern part of the city of Mumbai and was built only for British by English architect, Claude Batley. The Gymkhana Ground lies in the southern part of Azad Maidan. The ground is a leased property and the area is triangular shaped. Cricket is mainly played in this ground during the winter months. Apart from cricket, rugby and football is also a popular game during the monsoon months. This ground used to be a popular venue for erstwhile Bombay Pentagular Cricket matches. This was the very ground that hosted India`s first cricket match on 15th December 1933. CK Nayudu was the captain for that particular match.
