College of Art, New DelhiCollege of Art has been established under the Faculty of Music and Fine Art of Delhi University for encouraging training in visual and fine arts. Govt. of NCT of Delhi administers the College. It was formed as early as 1942 keeping in mind the objective of refining the insight of the student perception not restricted to professional skills only but also to form the sort of intelligence as well as emotional refinement to attain a level of creativity and thought as a whole. In a nutshell, it has taken the venture for grooming the students, so that they can create a mark in the creative domain of art and designing. In its period of continuation of more than sixty years, the College of Art, slow and steadily has reached a glorious position of international standards in the genre of fine art teaching in the country. Its faculty comprises painters, sculptors and graphic designers both of national and international fame. Visiting faculties also add richness to the entire teaching programme with their valuable suggestions. For providing ample scope of interaction and discussion, workshops, educational tours, research development projects, illustrated deliberations and presentations are organized.

Courses Offered at College of Art
Presently the college offers courses both at graduate and postgraduate levels with due stress on realistic studio work, study of approved theory subjects and research in chosen fields. Bachelor of Fine Art is an undergraduate course with 4 years duration in disciplines like Painting, Sculpture and Applied Art. Postgraduate courses include- Master of Fine Art in the aforesaid disciplines. The duration of postgraduate courses is 2 years.

Facilities at College of Art
College of Art has an excellent infrastructure consisting of well-furnished studios, laboratories and amusements hubs. It also houses an administrative block, computer centers and studio-cum-workshops for Offset, Metal Casting, Ceramics, Mural, Weaving and Printmaking etc. College of Art, New Delhi The College library is well stocked with a huge collection of books on various subjects like drawing, sculpture and Applied Art. Every now and then multiple books of several interrelated subjects are stocked in the shelves of the reference and lending section of the library.

The canteen facilitates its students by serving delicious and healthy lunch. Crispy snacks are also available. From the stationery shop of the college, students can buy various stationery and artistic materials.

Students also have developed interest to take part in extra curricular activities. The College promotes sports like Table Tennis, Badminton, Volley Ball, Basket Ball etc. Each and every year students of the College of Art participate enthusiastically in all the inter-class tournaments organized by Delhi University. The Annual sports meet is also held each year. Apart from these sports events, special classes for teachers as well as students on Yoga are held daily from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. A compulsory Annual Educational Tour to places of historical, cultural and artistic importance in India is also organized.

Alumni of College of Art
Eminent personalities in the field of Art Education, namely Late Mr. Ramendranath Chakravarty, Late Padma Bhushan Prof B.C.Sanyal, Late Prof Biswanath Mukherjee and Prof O.P.Sharma, has served this college with utmost devotion and sincerity. Prominent educationists and famous artists such as Late Mr. Sailoz Mukherjee, Late Prof K.S.Kulkarni, Late Mr. G.R.Santosh, Late Mr. Bimal Das Gupta, Late Mr. Dhanraj Bhagat, Late Ms. Jaya Appaswamy, Late Prof. Dinkar Kowshik, Late Mr. Somnath Hore, Mr. Biren De, Padma Vibhushan Dr. Satish Gujral, Mr.Amarnath Sehgal, Padamshri Smt. Anjolie Ela Menon, Padambhusan Pandit Debu Chaudhuri, Dr. Lokesh Chandra, Prof. A. Ramachandran, Padamshri Keshav Malik, Dr. Kapila Vatsyayan, Prof. Richard Cox, Prof. P.D.Abhayankar, Late Prof P.N.Mago, Late Prof. S.S.Vohra, Prof. N.C.Sen Gupta, and Prof. Paramjeet Singh are also close associates of the College of Art.
