Agartala
Agartala is the capital as well as the largest city of Tripura. Agartala is the second largest city in North-east India after Guwahati, both in municipal area and population. The city is the seat of the Government of Tripura. Agartala is one of the fastest developing cities of India.

Belonia
Belonia is a notified town and Municipal Council in South Tripura district of Tripura. It is also the headquarters of South Tripura District. It is linked with Agartala by National Highway 44 via Udaipur, which is noted for the palaces and also via Rajnagar, Sonamura, Melagarh, and Bisramganj. Belonia lies on a border with Bangladesh.

Dharmanagar
Dharmanagar is a district town and a Municipal Council in India and the North Tripura district of the state of Tripura. Dharmanagar is a city with extreme natural beauty. The city also has its great history regarding the several emperors who ruled the city. The city is located in the western hemisphere of the state of Tripura. Dharmanagar is very famous for its historical monuments and palaces. The city has many such historic ruins which display the ancient old history of the city.Cities of Tripura

Kumarghat
Kumarghat is a town and a nagar panchayat in Unakoti district in the Indian state of Tripura. This place is dotted with Pre historic and early Indian settlements found by the Archaeological Survey of India. Kumarghat had a population of 13,053. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Kumarghat has an average literacy rate of 79%, higher than the national average of 59.5%. Male literacy is 83%, and female literacy is 76%. In Kumarghat, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Melaghar
Melaghar is a Municipal town in Sipahijala district in Tripura. It is situated about 50 km from capital Agartala. It is neighbour to Sonamura and only 10 km away from Bangladesh border. It contains a Hospital, Police station, 2 Major Schools, few Primary schools, a Motorstand, Petrol-Pump, Cell Towers and a Town Hall. The famous Water Palace Neermahal is situated in the middle of Rudrasagar Lake in this town.Cities of Tripura

Sonamura
Sonamura is a town and a sub-division in Sipahijala district of Tripura. It lies on the border with Bangladesh, to the east of Comilla District. It contains a hospital, police station, jail, and a town hall. Sukanta Park is a park of note in Sonamura.

Sabroom
Sabroom is a town and a nagar panchayat in South Tripura district in Tripura. Sabroom is located in the banks of the river Feni, which separates India and Bangladesh. Most of the people there, speak in Noyakhali, a dialect of Bengali Language.

Ranirbazar
Ranirbazar is located on the National Highway 44 (Assam-Agartala highway) on the banks of river Haora. It is half an hour distance from Agartala by vehicle. Nearby towns are Khayerpur and Jirania.

Teliamura
Teliamura is a town and a nagar panchayat in Khowai district in Tripura. It is on the National Highway No. 44 of India. It is also the headquarters of the recently included sub-division of Teliamura. It is 45 km from Agartala, capital of Tripura, 35 km from Khowai and 42 km from Ambassa.

Udaipur
Cities of TripuraUdaipur is a town and a municipal council in Tripura. This city is famous for the Tripura Sundari temple. It is also the headquarters of Gomati district. Udaipur is about 55 km from Agartala, the capital of Tripura. There are lots of artificial lakes (namely Dhani Sagar, Bijoy Sagar (Mahadev Dighi), Jagannath Dighi, Amar Sagar). Udaipur is the 3rd largest town of tripura followed by Agartala and Dharmanagar on the bank of Gomati river.

Ambassa
Ambassa is a census town and the headquarters of the Dhalai district of Tripura.

Jirania
Jirania is a small town in India on the banks of river Saidra. It is a nagar panchayat and also the headquarters of Jirania Rural Development Block. It is located in Sadar sub-divisions of West Tripura district.

Tourism in Tripura
The agricultural festivals held every year are an integral part of the culture of the cities. Most of these festivals are accompanied by characteristic dances of Manipuri and Bengali style. The main languages spoken are Bengali and Kokborok. Agartala is the capital city of Tripura. The other important cities are Badharghat, Agartala, Kumarghat, Pilak, Udaipur, Unakoti which are noted for the kali temples and the pre historic settlements.
