Since time immemorial they have served a number of Christian pilgrims and devotees. Built in ancient times, the churches have still retained their beauty and elegance owing to the care bestowed on them. St. Thomas Cathedral St. Thomas Cathedral is situated in Mumbai. It is considered as the first Anglican church of Mumbai which was established in 1718 with the aim of improving the moral standards of growing British settlements. The church had undergone major renovation processes after several years of its establishment. It was also nominated for UNESCO Asia-Pacific heritage conservation award 2004.

Our Lady of Egypt Church
Our Lady of Egypt is a renowned Roman Catholic Church of Mumbai and is a part of the Archdiocese of Bombay. This ancient church was founded in the year 1606. The church was renovated in late 1960 owing to the increasing Catholic population. It also houses a graveyard to its north direction.

Churches of Maharashtra Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church
Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church is another Roman Catholic Parish situated in Mumbai. The feast day is celebrated every year in the church on 8th of December where people from all over the city gather. It has been a tradition since centuries.

St. Andrew`s Church
St. Andrew`s Church is enlisted among the oldest churches of Mumbai, constructed by Portuguese Jesuits. Built in 1575, the church is historically very significant as it was the only church in Bandra till 17th century. The architecture represents Portuguese style with sophisticated wooden carvings and paintings. The exquisite stone cross of the church was carved out of a single stone. St. Andrew`s Church also hosts a museum displaying an old confessional, old crosses, an organ, a tabernacle, a communion rail, music stands and an elaborate candle stand.

St. Theresa Church
St. Theresa Church is located in Haregaon. Catholic pilgrims from different regions of the country visit the church.

Churches of Maharashtra St. Michael`s Church
St. Michael`s Church is famous for being one of the most ancient churches as well as oldest Portuguese buildings of Mumbai. The Novenas on Wednesdays of the church is also renowned which witnesses thousands of pilgrims. The church was initially built in 1534 but was rebuilt several times. It not only attracts Christian devotees but also the adherents of other faiths to pay homage to the Virgin Mary.

Afghan Church
Afghan Church, also known as the Church of St John the Evangelist, is situated in southern Mumbai. It is a Presbyterian Church, established by the British to pay respect to the people who died in the disastrous defeat in the First Afghan War in the year 1838. The architecture of the church is highly impressive, built with limestone and buff-coloured basalt which is available locally. Beautiful stained glass windows and gothic arches embellish the church building in an attractive manner.

Cathedral of the Holy Name
The Cathedral of the Holy Name, a Roman Catholic Cathedral, is also located in Mumbai. The church is famous for its impressive frescos, a large gold embroidered stole which was gifted by Pope John XXIII and pipe organ.

Church of Our Lady of Dolours
Church of Our Lady of Dolours is also a Roman Catholic Church located in Mumbai. It was erected in 1853. A statue of the Pieta is the centrepiece of the church.

Church of Our Lady of Health
Church of Our Lady of Health was constructed in 1794 by the Portuguese. A beautiful statue of the Our Lady of Immaculate Conception is placed in front of the church.
