This place is located 254 km from Rishikesh, 36 km from Gopeshwar, and approximately 450 km from Delhi. The best time to visit the place is from June to November.

Copta is the tiny settlement and commencement point to 3rd of Panch Kedar Tungnath. It offers beautiful view of the imposing Himalayan Mountain Range that includes Nanda, Trishul Mountain, Devi and Chaukhamba Peak. This place is rich in flora and fauna. Copta is located amidst deodar, pine and rhododendrons.

Chopta is very easily accessible and is situated near a Hamlet connect Gopeshwar with Guptkashi. Tourists from around the country and across the world throng the place to get a feel of the natural beauty of the place.
