Chikka Honnappa Bhagavathar was born in the year 1914. He was the singing star of Kannada theatre and cinema. Bhagavathar was born in Choudasandra village. Chikka Honnappa Bhagavathar trained in Carnatic music and Katha Kalakshepam, and acted in commercial Company Nataka under Gubbi H. Veeranna. Chikka Honnappa Bhagavathar made his film debut in Tamil cinema, but excelled in H. L. N. Simha`s Kannada cinematizations of Veeranna productions, recreating his stage heroes, such as the husband in Gunasagari i.e. `Ocean of Virtue` in 1953. His Katha Kalakshepam recitals drew thousands of listeners. Chikka Honnappa Bhagavathar also performed in Yakshagana and taught his technique to many students.

This artist died in the year of 1992.
