Chief Ministers of Rajasthan are the chief executive of the state. The state of Rajasthan has been served by 13 leaders till date varying from one political party to another.

Chief Ministers of RajasthanChief Ministers of Rajasthan are the chief executives of the north Indian state of Rajasthan. As per the Constitution of India, the Governor of Rajasthan appoints the Chief Minister, whose Council of Ministers are collectively responsible to the assembly. The chief minister"s term is for 5 years.

From 1949, 13 people have been Chief Minister of Rajasthan. Heera Lal Shastri was the first Chief Minister of Rajasthan after Independence. Mohan Lal Sukhadia was the longest serving Chief Minister of Rajasthan. Vasundhara Raje Scindia of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is only female to serve as the Chief Minister of the state. The present Chief Minister of Rajasthan is Ashok Gehlot of the Indian National Congress.

Heera Lal Shastri
Heera Lal Shastri was the 1st Chief Minister of Rajasthan. He was in office from 7th April 1949 to 5th January 1951. He belonged to the Indian National Congress party.

C.S. Venkatachari
C.S. Venkatachari became the 2nd Chief Minister of Rajasthan from 6th January 1951 to 25th April 1951. He was an Indian Civil Servant and belonged to the Indian National Congress.

Jai Narayan Vyas
Jai Narayan Vyas was the 3rd Chief Minister of Rajasthan. He was Chief Minister of Rajasthan twice, first time from 26th April 1951 to 3rd March 1952 and a second time from 1st November 1952 to 12th November 1954. He was a leader of Indian National Congress party.

Tika Ram Paliwal
Tika Ram Paliwal served as the 4th Chief Minister of Rajasthan from 3rd March 1952 to 31st October 1952. He belonged to the Indian National Congress.

Chief Ministers of RajasthanMohan Lal Sukhadia
Mohan Lal Sukhadia was the 5th Chief Minister of Rajasthan. He continued on this post for record making 17 years from 13th November 1954 to 13th March 1967 and from 26th April 1967 to 9th July 1971. He is widely revered as the "founder of modern Rajasthan". He was a freedom fighter and a leader of Indian National Congress party.

President"s Rule in Rajasthan
The first ever President"s Rule in Rajasthan was from 13th March 1967 to 26th April 1967. The next President"s Rule in Rajasthan was from 29th April 1977 to 22nd June 1977, 16th February 1980 to 6th June 1980 and lastly from 15th December 1992 to 4th December 1993.

Barkatullah Khan
Barkatullah Khan was the 6th Chief Minister of Rajasthan from 9th July 1971 to 11th October 1973. He was a leader of Indian National Congress party.

Hari Dev Joshi
Hari Dev Joshi was the 7th Chief Minister of Rajasthan. His tenure as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan was for 3 times, first from 11th October 1973 to 29th April 1977, second time from 10th March 1985 to 20th January 1988 and finally for a short time from 4th December 1989 to 4th March 1990. He was a leader of Indian National Congress party.

Bhairon Singh Shekhawat
Bhairon Singh Shekhawat served as the 8th Chief Minister of Rajasthan 3 times, from 22nd June 1977 to 16th February 1980, 4th March 1990 to 15th December 1992 and from 4th December 1993 to 29th November 1998. He was also the 11th Vice President of India. He was a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, a leading member of the National Democratic Alliance.

Jagannath Pahadia
Jagannath Pahadia was the 9th Chief Minister of Rajasthan state from 6th June 1980 to 14th July 1981. He was a leader of the Indian National Congress party.

Shiv Charan Mathur
Shiv Charan Mathur was the 10th Chief Minister of Rajasthan for 2 times, first one from 14th July 1981 to 23rd February 1985 and again from 20th January 1988 to 4th December 1989. He belonged to the Indian National Congress.

Hira Lal Devpura
Hira Lal Devpura was the 11th Chief Minister of Rajasthan state in India from 23rd February 1985 to 10th March 1985. He belonged to the Indian National Congress.

Ashok Gehlot
Ashok Gehlot is the 12th Chief Minister of Rajasthan from 1st December 1998 to 8th December 2003, from 13th December 2008 to 12th December 2013 and is currently serving his third term from 17th December 2018. He is the general secretary of Indian Congress Party. He was influenced by the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi at a very young age and was actively engaged in social political work even as a student.

Vasundhara Raje Scindia
Vasundhara Raje Scindia served as 13th Chief Minister of Rajasthan from 8th December 2003 to 11th December 2008 and from 12th December 2013 to 16th December 2018. She was the first woman to hold the post. She belonged to the Bharatiya Janata Party.
