Chief Minister of Haryana is the chief executive of the north Indian state of Haryana. As per the Constitution of India, the governor appoints the Chief Minister, whose council of ministers are collectively responsible to the assembly. Since 1966, ten people have served as the Chief Minister of Haryana. The first was B. D. Sharma of the Indian National Congress party. The present Chief Minister of Haryana is Manohar Lal Khattar.
Bhagwat Dayal Sharma
Bhagwat Dayal Sharma was the first Chief Minister of Haryana from 1st November 1966 to 23rd March 1967. He belonged to the Indian National Congress.
Rao Birender Singh
Rao Birender Singh was the second Chief Minister of Haryana from 24th March 1967 to 2nd November 1967. He belonged to the Vishal Haryana Party.
President"s Rule in Haryana
The President"s rule in Haryana started from 2nd November 1967 to 22nd May 1968, 30th April 1977 to 21st June 1977 and from 6th April 1991 to 23rd July 1991.
Bansi Lal
Bansi Lal was the third Chief Minister of Haryana from 22nd May 1968 to 30th November 1975; from 5th July 1985 to 19th June 1987; again from 11th May 1996 to 23rd July 1999. He belonged to the Indian National Congress. Lal is one of the longest serving Chief Ministers of Haryana. He is considered to be the Architect of the modern Haryana.
Banarsi Das Gupta
Banarsi Das Gupta was the fourth Chief Minister of Haryana from 1st December 1975 to 30th April 1977 and from 22nd May 1990 to 12th July 1990. He belonged to Janata Dal. He is a renowned freedom fighter.
Chaudhary Devi Lal
Chaudhary Devi Lal was the fifth Chief Minister of Haryana and has also been appointed as the sixth Deputy Prime Minister of India. He has served as Chief Minister of Haryana for two separate terms; from 21st June 1977 to 28th June 1979 and from 17th July 1987 to 2nd December 1989. He belonged to the Janata Party.
Bhajan Lal
Bhajan Lal was the sixth Chief Minister of Haryana. He has served for three separate terms as the Haryana Chief Minister. He has served from 29th June 1979 to 22nd January 1980; 22nd January 1980 to 5th July 1985, again from 23rd July 1991 to 9th May 1996. He belonged to the Indian National Congress.
Om Prakash Chautala
Om Prakash Chautala is the seventh Chief Minister of Haryana who has served four times as the Chief Minister of Haryana. He has served from 2nd December 1989 to 22nd May 1990, 12th July 1990 to 17th July 1990, 22nd March 1991 to 6th April 1991 and 24th July 1999 to 4th March 2005. He belonged to Indian National Lok Dal.
Hukam Singh
Hukam Singh, a Subedar in the Indian Army has served as the eighth Haryana Chief Minister from 17th July 1990 to 21st March 1991. He belonged to the Janata Dal.
Bhupinder Singh Hooda
Bhupinder Singh Hooda was the 9th Chief Minister of Haryana from 5 March 2005 to 19 October 2014. He was one of the most powerful political leaders in Haryana. He belonged to the Indian National Congress.
Manohar Lal Khattar
Manohar Lal Khattar is the tenth and the current Chief Minister of Haryana from October 2014. He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party.
