Performance of Chawnglaizawn Chawnglaizawn is a popular folk dance of one of the Mizo communities known as "Pawi". This dance is presented in two diverse events, these are as follows:

•In one occasion, it is performed by a husband to express the grief of the death of his wife. He continues with the dance until he is tired and is incapable to dance any longer. Friends and relatives would be of assistance to him and dance on his behalf. This signifies that they mourn with the bereaved.

•The second occasion is a happy one. The hunters come back after a triumphant hunt and are saluted with the Chawnglaizawn dance. This adaptation of the dance is presented by the group of boys and girls. The dancers stand in a row and carry out a series of movements with their arms.
