Chashma Shahi garden is one of the smallest Mughal gardens of Kashmir valley. This Garden is famous for its digestive water which comes from the natural fresh water streams of Kashmir.

Chashma Shahi Garden, Jammu and KashmirChashma Shahi garden is one of the most attractive and colourful gardens located in Kashmir valley. Situated on the natural springs of Kashmir valley this is one of the smallest mughal gardens of Kashmir Valley. Covering an area of 108m by 38m this garden attracts the tourists towards its architecture, layout and beautification with various types of flowers that decorate the garden in all corners.

Chasma Shahi like all other Mughal gardens in Kashmir has the same lay out. There is a natural stream that flows from the centre. According to local legends the water is best for digestion and also cures diseases if washed with the water of the stream. Built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan this garden has three terraces and a number of fountains which includes an aqueduct and waterfalls. The water rolls down from the terrace and flows through polished stone crust into the Dal Lake. Situated opposite the panoramic Dal Lake this garden shares one of the most attractive view of the lake. Along with the garden it also includes the shrine of chashma sahibi which is situated besides the garden.

Thus built in 1632 AD this is one of the most picturesque gardens of Kashmir valley. With a simple structure at the centre surrounded with exemplary garden this is included among the most important tourist spots in Kashmir valley.
