Chandrashekhar Temple, Saho Village, Chamba, Himachal PradeshChandrashekhar temple is a magnificient shrine located in Saho Village (a charming village located on the right bank of the Sal river) in Chamba district, Himachal Pradesh. Built in the Shikhara style of architecture, the temple is dedicated to Lord Chandrashekhar (Lord Shiva). A shivalingam (phallus, symbolic representation of Lord Shiva) is enshrined here, reaching a height of 5 feet, the biggest in size in the district. In front of the temple a stone-carved image of Nandi, the divine bull is placed. A remarkable fact of this image is the tinkle sound of a bell produced when knocked in the throat segment. Baishakhi Festival is celebrated here with much splash and excitement. Chandrashekhar Temple can be accessed by bus from the Chamba Bus Depot.
