Spreading over an area of almost 200 acres, the Khonghampat Orchidarium hosts a variety of rare and endemic species of orchids. The Cymbidium orchids grown here are the most popular and among all the orchids, the Cattleya is the most exotic one. In the Khonghampat Orchidarium, the Phalaenopsis orchids, which are usually used during weddings, are grown in abundance here. Then there is the Denrobium orchid, which is the second largest orchid genus along with the Vanda orchids that produce colourful flowers.

Varying in size, shape and colour, the best time to see the orchids is during the months of April and May, when the flowers are in bloom.
