Celebrity Cricket League or CCL is inspired by the great success of the Indian Premier League and involves a group of eight teams of Indian movie actors. Till date, there have been four different seasons of CCL, and its founder is Vishnu Vardhan Induri.

Celebrity Cricket League is a combination of both game and entertainment. Celebrity Cricket League came into existence in the year 2011. Celebrity Cricket League matches have become much more popular as compared to the traditional games by the International Cricket Council or ICC.

History of Celebrity Cricket League
Celebrity Cricket LeagueThe immense popularity of Indian Premier League or IPL has been one of the strongest motivators of Celebrity Cricket League or CCL. The founder of CCL is a serial entrepreneur named Vishnu Vardhan Induri, who hails from Hyderabad. He acts as the Managing Director of CCL who commenced its functioning since the year 2010. He accomplished his mission by selling the franchise rights for four different reams during the first season of CCL. However, two more teams were added in the second season of CCL.

Teams of Celebrity Cricket League
The four teams, which participated in the inaugural season of Celebrity Cricket League, are Karnataka Bulldozers, Chennai Rhinos, Mumbai Heroes and TeluguWarriors. Karnataka Bulldozers lost to Chennai Rhinos, bagging the champions trophy for CCL inaugural season. The second season of CCL commenced from 13th January and continued till 13th February, 2012. Bengal Tigers and Kerala Strikers were the two new teams which were added in this season. Sharjah was chosen as the home grounds this time by Mumbai Heroes.Celebrity Cricket League For the second time, Chennai Rhinos emerged victorious against Karnataka Bulldozers and became CCL 2 champions. Two other new teams were added to the Celebrity Cricket League during the third season named Bhojpuri Dabbangs and Veer Marathi. While Veer Marathirepresented Marathi movie industry, Bhojpuri movie industry was represented by the team of Bhojpuri Dabbangs. Renowned Bollywood celebrities including Katrina Kaif,Salman Khan, Prabhu Deva and Bipasha Basu delivered their performances in the Season 3 event of CCL. Kerala Strikers played a match against the team of Mumbai Heroes and the grand Opening Ceremony was conducted on 9th February, 2013 at Kochi. Bipasha Basu was made the brand ambassador for Celebrity Cricket League, Season 3, along with the beautiful actress Kajal Agarwal. CCL 2014 was held from 25th January, 2014 till 23rd February, 2014. Karnataka Bulldozers were the winners of this season of CCL.

Numerable cricket stadiums have been utilized for the purpose of hosting these cricket matches of Celebrity Cricket League or CCL which are scattered throughout the country. They consist of Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad, M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium in Pune, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium at Kochi, Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium in Hyderabad, M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, Kanchenjunga Stadium in Siliguri, Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, DSC Cricket Stadium in Dubai, Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium in Sharjah, Nehru Stadium in Pune, Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, ACA-VDCA Stadium in Vishakhapatnam and Pune International Stadium in Pune.
