Causes of ArthritisSince the ancient period some reasons had been hold responsible for the causes of arthritis by the medical practitioners. Some of the causes that are commonly traced in medical science as the main causes behind the autoimmune disease include joint instability, age related changes, altered biochemistry, hormonal factors, genetic predisposition, environmental factors, psychological factors etc.

The primary cause for arthritis remains the instability in the joints that may be caused due to previous injury like a tibial plateau fracture, where the broken area of bone enters the cartilage of the knee joint. Joint damage can lead to irregularities in the normal smooth joint surface. Age can be a factor that may lead to arthritis as the cartilage becomes more brittle with age and has less of a capacity to repair itself. With the age people develop arthritis due to this particular fact. One of the most cited causes for arthritis include weight as most of the obese people develop arthritis. Illness or infection in the joints like a joint infection or septic joint, multiple episodes of gout, or other medical conditions, can develop arthritis of the joint. Moreover, one of the most important causes for arthritis is hereditary. Though heredity is recognised as a factor that leads to arthritis, the involvement of heredity or genetics as a cause for arthritis is not completely well interpreted by medical science.

Stress is considered to be one of the primary causes for arthritis. This disrupts the hormonal balance of the human body. Stress induced cortisone deficiency can be a factor in some forms of arthritis. Body systems release adrenalin and cortisone, a process that weakens the immune system and leads to the occurrence of stress. It results in spreading bacteria and other detrimental organisms, such as, Candida albicans throughout the body. The cause for arthritis is often found to be associated with mercury dental amalgams. It has been observed that once the amalgams are removed, the symptoms of arthritis usually disappear.

Causes of Arthritis In addition to the common causes, Osteoarthritis includes some more reasons to occur like skeletal defects, fractures and mechanical damage, food allergy, a diet high in animal products, cold climate and atmospheric pressure changes, deficiency of calcium, magnesium, manganese, protein, essential fatty acids, low-grade infections (e.g., dental infections) and autoimmune disease, dehydration, digestive disorder, constipation and endocrine disorders. The causes behind another commonly known arthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, remain genetic susceptibility, lifestyle factors, nutritional factors, food allergies, and microorganisms. Apart from all these causes, there are some causes for arthritis that include occupational hazards and high level sports. It is hard to determine how much sports participation contributes to development of arthritis. Certainly, sports participation can lead to joint injury and subsequent arthritis.

Causes for arthritis not only depend on a single factor or a single disruption of human physique. Considering different case studies the practitioners of medical science have cited a number of reasons behind this agonizing disease. Once the symptoms are checked and the ways suggested by the physicians are followed, this disease can be curable. If not entirely, the suggestions and medicines can bring some relief to the patients.
