Bugyal is grassland in the state of Uttarakhand in India. The alpine grassland is attracted by the inland and outland tourists.

BugyalBugyal is a high altitude alpine grass lands, in the state of Uttarakhand. They are colloquially referred as "nature`s own gardens". They can be smooth or sloped, and are covered with green grass and seasonal flowers. These provide an outstanding grazing ground and pastures for tribal herdsmen.

At elevations varying from 3300 meters to 4000 meters, these alpine meadows remain snow covered in winter. In the summer, the meadows throw forth a multitude of beautiful flowers and grass. The basins of Nanda Devi, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Bandarpunch have extensive Bugyals.

Bugyals constitute a fragile ecosystem, and hence need to be cautiously managed. The names of some of the major Bugyals are the Ali, Gorso, Kwanri Bugyal, Bedni Bugyal, Chaudas Bugyal, Jiolingkong, Dayara Bugyal, Tali Bugyals and many more.
