Bombay Vikings, Indian Music BandBombay Vikings is a musical band that was formed in Stockholm, Sweden in the year 1994. The band was started by Neeraj Shridhar, Oscar S"derberg and Mats Nordenborg. This is how three very talented musicians came in close proximity. Each is experienced in his own field. Bombay Vikings created sensation among the Indian music mongers for its unique combination of classical Bollywood style and European experimentation. This is the first group to use both the Hindi and English language in the same song.

History of Bombay Vikings
Neeraj Shridhar hailing from Jalandhar district, Punjab moved to Sweden when he was 13, and developed his passion for music there. He enjoyed listening to both western and Indian classical music. The band mainly gave performance of English songs with Neeraj adding a strong Indian influence. The band was soon joined by Johan Folke, a Keyboard specialist, Morgan on the drums, Par on the bass and Staffan as a Lead guitarist.

The Journey of Bombay Vikings
Neeraj`s ability to compose pop, rock, hip-hop, ending in jazz, soul and reggae has carved a niche for Bombay Vikings in the hearts of millions. With his rigorous attempts, he tried endlessly to take the band onto a higher plain. Mats, possessed with marvellous lungpower, ushered in the rich sounds of the saxophone. The band used to perform all over Sweden and Norway but soon Neeraj decided to perform in India.

The first album of Bombay Vikings in India was Kya Soorat Hai`, in the year 1999.The album in spite of having a strong western influence was a great success through out the nation. Songs like `Kya Soorat Hai`, `Mona Re` and `Night Is So Perfect` were a rage among the music lovers. In the year 2000 Bombay Viking released its second album named `Woh Chali`. The third album of this band was `Hawa Mein Udati Jaaye`, in 2002. In 2004, Bombay Vikings released `Chhodh Do Aanchal Zamana Kya Kahega`. In the year 2006 another album of Bombay Vikings `Zara Nazron Se Kehdo` was a tremendous hit. Recently this band has announced its forthcoming album `U n I`.
