Esha Deol is an Indian film actress and Bharatnatyam dancer who has earned critical acclamations in the film industry through her appealing performances. She stepped into the film arena in the year 2002 through the movie Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe. She has also performed in South Indian movies. Esha Deol has also won a number of awards for her remarkable acting skills.
Early Life of Esha Deol
Esha Deol is the successor of the very famous couple of film industry Dharmendra and Hema Malini. Esha has a younger sister Ahana and is also the half sister of Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. She was born on 2nd November, in the year 1981 and went to Jamnabai Nursee School. Later she studied in Mithibai College in Mumbai and aspired to become a fashion designer. Esha is well versed in Tamil along with Hindi as her mother tongue. Esha excelled in sports especially soccer and was also a national level player. She is a very talented dancer and excels in Bharatanatyam, a classical dance form. She was mentored by her mother Hema Malini who herself is a trained classical dancer. Film Career of Esha Deol
Esha debuted in films with Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe in 2002. After this her fate was not good enough to leave a mark in films until in 2003, when LOC Kargil fetched her the National Award. Recognition soon came in and she also started acting in Tamil films, the first one being "Ayitha Ezhuthu" in 2004 directed by Mani Ratnam. She also made it big in Bollywood with the release of Dhoom in 2004, which was a massive hit. Her next hit was Kaal which was jointly produced by Karan Johar and Shahrukh Khan. 2005 proved lucky for her after her next big hit No Entry directed by Boney Kapoor. Then she was again noticed in "Dus" which was an action thriller. Chura Liya Hai Tumne did not do well at all along with some others like Kuch To Hai, Kya Dil Ne Kaha and Na Tum Jaano Na Hum. She was appreciated in the movie Shaadi No.1 and Yuva which was another Mani Ratnam hit. She has acted opposite Fardeen Khan, Zayed Khan, Ajay Devgan, Tusshar Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan and many others. Pyare Mohan, Ankahee, Mera Dil Leke Dekho, Just Married, Darling, Cash and Hijack are some of the other movies of Esha.
Achievements of Esha Deol
Esha`s first film, Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe fetched the Filmfare Best Debut Award and Bollywood Movie Awards for Best Female Debut in the year 2003. Apart from this also received the Star Screen Awards for best Newcomer- Female for the same movie. In the same year she also won IIFA Awards for Star Debut of the Year - Female for the movie Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe.
