Early Life of Moonmoon Sen
Moonmoon Sen was born on 28 March 1948 and is the daughter of the legendary Bengali actress Suchitra Sen. She has two daughters Raima Sen and Riya Sen who are also renowned actresses in their own rights. Her father Mr. Dibanath Sen was the son of one of the wealthiest businessmen of Kolkata in the Indian state of West Bengal. Moonmoon Sen was educated from Darjeeling</b> and at Loreto College and graduated from Somerville College, University of Oxford. She later did her masters in comparative literature from Jadavpur University in Kolkata. In her childhood, she had received training in drawing from Jamini Roy, an acclaimed name in the field of arts. She had also worked as a teacher at Ballygunge Girls` School for a year and later at Chitrabani, a school which imparted training in film techniques, where she used to teach graphics. She also taught at Ballygunge Govt. High School in Kolkata, before joining the film industry. She was also associated with social work.

Career of Moonmoon Sen
Moonmoon Sen started her career in films and televisions after she got married and became a mother. She has appeared in more than 60 films and over 40 television serials. She made her debut with the film "Andar Bahar" in 1984. Her role in the movie became quite a controversy amongst the audiences and film critics. She has appeared in many hit Bengali cinema, which further helped her in getting roles in Hindi films as well. She was moderately successful in Hindi film industry (Bollywood), however, was more successful in the Bengali industry. After the movie "Zakhmi Dil" that released in the year 1994 she did not appear in films, however in 2003 she returned and starred in the thriller "Kucch To Hai" which failed at the box-office.

Moonmoon Sen has also acted in a number of films in other regional languages like Malayalam language, Telugu language, Tamil language, Kannada language as well as Marathi language movies. Her performance in the Telugu film "Sirivennela" is considered as one of her best performances in her acting career that she was critically acclaimed and her work was extremely appreciated. She has acted in a Tamil cinema called 12B. She has also acted in some television serials as well as a couple of Bengali tele-films. Some of her notable movies include `Musafir`, `Woh Phir Aayegi`, `Tere Bina Kya Jeena`, `Jeevan Ek Sangharsh`, `Bow Barracks Forever` and so on.

Moonmoon Sen has also achieved recognition in South Indian movies. Majnu and Sirivennela were her Telugu movies. Other movies included 12B (Tamil), Aval Kathirunnu Avanum (Malayalam) and Yuga Purusha (Kannada).

Personal Life of Moonmoon Sen
Moonmoon Sen married Bharat Dev Sharma in 1978. Her husband belonged to the royal family of Tripura. Sen`s mother in law was the Princess of Cooch Behar and her older sister Gayatri Devi is the Maharani of Jaipur. Dinanath Seth, her great grandfather was the Diwan of the Maharaja of Tripura.
