The town of Bodeli is located on the banks of the Orsang River, which is one of the biggest rivers in the Chhota Udaipur district in the Indian state of Gujarat. The official languages spoken in the area are Gujarati and Hindi.
History of Bodeli
Carved out of the Vadodara district on 26th January, 2013, the Chhota Udaipur district is the 28th district of Gujarat and along with this Bodeli became a taluka in that. Earlier a part of the Vadodara district, Bodeli came under the Chhota Udaipur district after its formation in the year 2013.
Demographics of Bodeli
As per the Census India reports of 2011, the total population of Bodeli was 12,184, out of which 6,321 were males and 5,863 were females. The town also had an average literacy rate of around 88 percent, out of the total population. The population of Bodeli is diverse, characterised by people of different cultures and religions. There are a number of Hindu temples like the BAPS Swaminarayan temple and Islamic mosques that cater to the religious preferences of the people.
The town also has a number of industries including various big and small cement pipe factories, cotton mills and a sugar factory along with a dairy plant. Other than these, the Garbi Chowk in Bodeli is a popular spot among the tourists and natives alike because of the performance of Garba in the area.
