Birla Mandir: Jaipur, RajasthanThe Birla Mandir at Jaipur, in Rajasthan is a famous temple situated just below the Moti Dungari. Built by the famous B.M.Birla Foundation, this temple is also known by the name of Lakshmi Narayan Temple. This temple is a facsimile of a Scottish castle. This temple is a venerated one for the Hindus and is entirely dedicated to Shri Lakshmi Narayan. It is one of the most revered Hindu temples.

It is built of white marble on top of a hill. It has three domes. Each of them portrays the different approaches to religion. The deities that are worshipped here are Vishnu or Narayan and his consort Lakshmi, Goddess of wealth and good fortune. The exterior of the temple contains carved sculptures of various mythological themes and images of saints. The images of the deities are placed in the sanctum sanctorum.

During the festival of Janmasthami, the Birla temple looks like a magical palace. It is celebrated to mark the birth of Lord Krishna. The temple is wholly decorated with flowers and festoons.

Other than the image of Gods and Goddesses, the temple also houses statues of great thinkers and philosophers like Buddha and Socrates.
