Birbal Savitri Sahni Memorial Museum is situated at Birbal Sahni Marg in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. It was established in the year of 1984 by the eminent professor and scientist Mr. Birbal Sahni who has donated all his personal collection to this Museum. It is mainly a science Museum. Birbal Savitri Sahni Memorial Museum comprises of collections like furniture, clothing, coins, manuscripts, research papers, valuable letters, photographs and books on different subjects.
Legends of Madam Savitri Sahni
Madam Savitri Sahni was the wife of the eminent Indian Palaeobotanist, late Prof. Birbal Sahni. She died on the morning of April 26, 1985, in her 83rd years of age and was burned in the campus of her own house located on the bank of river Gomti at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Mrs. Sahni had been a regular companion of her husband, whether at home or in a foreign country, or in visiting foreign universities. She also accompanied with her husband in meetings of research institutions, meeting the leading geologists, or in meeting the palaeobotanists and other scientists in the country they visited. Mrs. Sahni committed herself with a strong will and purpose to look after the Museum after her husband"s death.

Birbal Savitri Sahni Memorial Museum is open on all days from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. In winter it is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. apart from Mondays. There are regular flights from the other major cities of the country to Lucknow. Nearest airport is Lucknow airport. Lucknow is well connected with other foremost cities of the country by way of regular trains.
