Early Life and Education of Bharath
Bharath, born Bharath Srinivasan on July 21, 1983 in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, into a middle class family to father Srinivasan, who is in the computers field and mother Lakshmi, a homemaker. The family later moved to Chennai when Bharath was a month old and his father got a job there. Bharath completed his schooling from DAV Senior Secondary School, Anna Nagar and later studied at The New College, Chennai. Bharath was a dancer by profession, having trained at Swingers International Dance Club where he joined at the age of 11. He was spotted by director S. Shankar while performing at a dance programme "Inspirations" at the Music Academy by Swingers, who cast him in his film "Boys", released in 2003.

Career of Bharath
Bharath made his acting debut in Tamil films in the year 2003, with "Boys" directed by S. Shankar, wherein he played the guitarist of a boy band. The coming-of-age film fared well at the box office. He was next seen in the Jayaraj-directed vigilante Malayalam film "4 the People", released in 2004, portraying one of the four protagonists. The film went on to become a blockbuster, grossing Rs.10 Lakhs at the Kerala box office and turning out to be the highest-grossing Malayalam film of the year. It was subsequently dubbed into Tamil as "4 Students" and in Telugu as "Yuvasena", with the Tamil version emerging a box office success as well. Later that year, he played the antagonist role of Vishwa Rajasekhar in Tamil film "Chellamae". His portrayal of a possessive teenager who kidnaps his childhood friend he is obsessed with and married to someone else, was acclaimed by critics. The film was also a box office success.Bharath, Tamil Cinema Actor He played his first solo lead role in Balaji Sakthivel-directed romantic drama "Kaadhal", featuring as a poor mechanic who falls in love and elopes with a wealthy 12th standard student. The film, produced by Shankar was critically acclaimed but was a commercial flop. He appeared in the romantic film "February 14" in 2005 and subsequently in the gangster thriller "Pattiyal", which released in 2006 to negative reviews and flopped at the box office, though Bharath garnered accolades for his performance of a deaf and dumb contract killer. Later in 2006, he starred in "Azhagai Irukkirai Bayamai Irukkirathu", "Em Magan", "Chennai Kadhal" and "Veyyil". While "Chennai Kadhal" bombed at the box office, Thirumurugan`s family drama "Em Magan" was declared a hit. Bharath received accolades for "Veyyil", which also emerged a commercial success and was selected for screening at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival.

Post "Veyyil", Bharath faced a setback in his career with his subsequent releases becoming commercial failures, with the exception of "Pazhani". He was facing an image crisis as he signed up for conventional action films, continuing to play repetitive roles as a "larger than life angry young man", "small town rowdy" or "guy seeking revenge". "Koodal Nagar", released in 2007, saw him portraying a dual role. In 2008, he appeared in Perarasu`s "Pazhani", alongside Kajal Aggarwal and Kushboo, followed by V. Z. Durai-directed "Nepali". The year had two more releases, "Muniyandi Vilangial Moonramandu" with the "Em Magan" team, and Hari`s "Seval". In 2009, he acted in "Arumugam", directed by Suresh Krishna and "Kandein Kadhalai", the latter featuring him in a totally contrasting role of a rich businessman and becoming his only commercial success in two years. In 2010, he had a single release "Thambikku Indha Ooru", which became a critical and commercial failure.Bharath, Tamil Cinema Actor

In 2011, he appeared in the multi-starrer "Vaanam", as guitarist Bharath Chakravarthy. Post release, Bharath clashed with the producer and another actor in the film Silambarasan, claiming he did not receive as much promotion and publicity as Silambarasan`s character. His subsequent film was the romantic comedy "Yuvan Yuvathi", co-starring Rima Kallingal, followed by action film "Thiruthani" in 2012, co-starring Sunaina. In 2013, the romantic thriller "Ainthu Ainthu Ainthu", directed by Sasi, opened to positive reviews with a critic noting Bharath "has put his heart and soul in this movie, making it worth the wait". The film was a commercial success. The same year, the actor made his Bollywood debut with "Jackpot", a film about four people who try to con one another for money. Bharath played the character Anthony D"Souza from Puducherry.

In 2014, Bharath returned to Malayalam Cinema with "Koothara" and acted in the Tamil comedy film "Aindhaam Thalaimurai Sidha Vaidhiya Sigamani". In 2015, he appeared in A.Venkatesh-directed action film "Killadi", which was slammed by critics. He subsequently played an autistic youngster in a 2015 Malayalam project titled "1000: Oru Nottu Paranja Katha", which again garnered poor reviews on release as did his portrayal. Later that year, he appeared in another Malayalam movie "Lord Livingstone 7000 Kandi", an experimental film. In 2016, he is slated to appear in Tamil black comedy film "Simba", comedies "Ennodu Vilayadu" and "Kadugu" along with horror film "Pottu".
