Bhagwan Das, Indian SaintAmong the few saints of India, who was born outside India, but spread his thoughts in India, after learning the Indian spiritualism, Bhagwan Das was surely amongst the most popular ones. Bhagwan Das was born in Laguna Beach, California, in the year of 1945 and he started seeking enlightenment and his life`s purpose from a very young age of only 18 years. He started traveling all over the world from that age and it was his travelling that brings him to India in the year of 1963. After coming to India, Bhagwan Das became a true yogi and also renounced the world.

Bhagwan Das was the first American who lived with the recognized saint Neem Karoli Baba and he was also the catalyst for the many westerners who followed on a similar journey to the East in the late 1960`s and early 1970`s. Bhagwan Das spent a long period of six continuous years in the countries like India and Nepal and he studied Hinduism and Buddhism and lived the life of a `sadhu`, during this time. He also received a number of initiations and teachings from the living masters like Kaumapa, Dudjous Rinpoche, Lama KaluantMahesh Yogi, during the same period.

Bhagwan Das was one of the rare saints who offered an unparalleled perspective of bending Eastern consciousness into the spiritual whirlpool of modern Western Life, as a devotee and scholar. He has written a number of popular books during his life and the book names, "It`s Here Now. Are You?", is being considered as one of the most successful ones. His album named `Now` has also become a ground-breaking record of Eastern devotional chanting.
