According to history Bhagawan Shantinath Jain Teerth dates back to the ancient times. The place was earlier known as Devagadh in the 12th or the 13th century of the Vikram Samvat Era. It was believed that the gods of heaven had created this place. The place also houses many ancient idols. There are many inscriptions carved on the pillars of the temple. These inscriptions belong from the eight to the fifteenth century. The artistic work of the temple depicts the art and culture of ancient times.
