Numerous temples built by Jain followers can be seen throughout the city of Kutch. The Bhadreshwar Jain Temple, regarded as one of the most ancient and holiest Jain pilgrim site, is located in Bhadraswar, Kutch. Bhadrawati was ruled by King Sidhsen in 449 BC (by the Hindu calendar) who refurbished the place later. The Solankies, who were Jains, were to rule the city after King Sidhsen, changed the name of the city into Bhadreshwar. Then again in 1315, a mass famine struck Kutch, after which the place was renovated by Jagadusha.
Near the village of Jalvana, Koday Bohter Jinalaya is yet another holy pilgrim site for the Jains. There are 72 statues of Jain gods altogether, the chief amongst them being Prabhu Aadeshwarji. It is 73 inches in height. Not only Jains, people from all over the world throng this temple.
