A number of impressive Bengali films hit the cinema halls across West Bengal in 2008. Fresh faces like that of Koel Mullick, Srabanti Malakar, Hiran Chatterjee, Dev and Aparajita Ghosh. It was in this year that Soumitra Chatterjee bagged his first National Award in the best actor category for Goutam Ghose`s film Padakshep.
