Bawan Pokhar temple is located in the Indian state of Bihar. It is also defined as an old temple of Vaishali. More specifically, this temple is situated on the northern banks of a pond called Bawan Pokhar. This temple is a Hindu temple, which is dedicated to several gods. Bawan Pokhar Temple is constructed using stone, representing the architecture of the medieval period. Interior of the temple is adorned by beautiful images of Hindu Gods and Goddesses. A very unique characteristic of this temple is that a large number of Hindu deities are enshrined at one place and worshipped collectively. This rich collection of different deities is made of black basalt, dating back to the Gupta and Pala period. Also, a four headed Shiva Linga is enshrined inside the temple. It was found buried in the area occupied by the temple. Even the Shiva Linga is made up of black basalt, representing the architecture of the Pallava Dynasty. These deities are offered flowers and precious jewels by devotees, which further enhance their beauty.

Although still worshipped, what is perceptible from the current state of both the temples is that they are not managed and maintained properly.
