Basni Belima is a census town situated in the Nagaur district in the state of Rajasthan in the western part of India. The district headquarters are located in the city of Nagaur. The Bikaner District to the northwest, the Sikar District to the northeast, the Churu District to the north, the Jaipur District to the east, the Pali District to the south, the Ajmer District to the southeast, and the Jodhpur District to the southwest and west surround the district of Nagaur. The district falls under the Marwar region of Rajasthan, amidst the Aravalli ranges and the thorn scrub forests belt bordering the Thar Desert. The district harbours the saline Sambhar Lake, India`s largest salty lake. The Nagaur District is positioned between 26°25` and 27°40` North Latitude and 73°10` and 75°15` East Longitude. The major towns of the district are Kuchaman, Makrana, Merta, Degana, Ladnu, Deedwana, Nawa, Parbatsar, Khinwsar, Jayal, and Chhoti Khatu. The district has produced many notable persons like Yunus Khan, Baldev Ram Mirdha, Raghuvendra Mirdha, Amar Singh Rathore, Veer Durga Das Rathore, Sawai Singh Shekhawat, Ram Niwas Mirdha, Lokendra Singh Kalvi, Bhanwar Singh Rathore, Umaid Singh Rathore and Major Nand Kishor Dhaka.
As per the 2001 India census, the town Basni Belima has a population of 21,557. Males make up 50% of the population and females comprise 50%. Basni Belima has an average literacy rate of 54%, lower than the nationwide standard of 59.5%. 63% of the males and 37% of the females are literate. 20% of the population is children less than 6 years of age.
